Training Program

 

Training courses offered:

1. Student Pilot License (SPL)
2. Private Pilot License (PPL)
3. Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
4. Practical for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Apprenticeship (AME)

Students are required to complete certain formalities before they can be enrolled, like
  • Filling in the membership form,
  • Security clearance from the Commissioner of Police,
  • Medical Assessment and
  • submission of passing certificate for the Xth or Xllth examinations from the relevant board.

    Security Clearance: This will be required as per government regulations to enable members to enter security controlled areas at the Vadodara Airport during the course of their training. The Club does not accept as member any individual with a criminal record or with criminal proceedings pending.

    Medical Fitness: The clearances required are Medical Form CA-34, an x-ray with corresponding report an ECG graph & report, a Pathology Lab report, etc. As the current regulations stand, eye glasses are permitted, however, any form of colour blindness and anyone who is hard of hearing will be disqualified immediately. All these criteria will be checked by the DGCA, New Delhi approved doctors.

    2. Private Pilot's License (PPL):

    This license is only valid for flying for hobby Purposes. This can be obtained, depending in individual aptitude, within a time frame of 8 months from the candidate's first flight, provided the SPL has been cleared. The rest of the criteria remain as for the SPL.

    Ground Training: This consists of classroom studies in the following subjects:
    1. air regulations
    2. air navigation
    3. aviation meteorology
    4. theory of flight
    5. aircrft, engine & Propellers - construcdtion & performance
    6. radio telephony (RT)
    3. Commercial Pilot's License (CPL):

    This course is for someone who wishes to pursue a career in flying and who is already a holder of the SPL and PPL. Lt prepares the candidate for the airlines environment and requires a total of 200 flying hours.

    Medical fitness

    Class I Medical clearance approved by DGCA/FAA,
    as applicable at following centers:
  • Central Medical Establishment
    Subroto Park, Dhaul Kuan, New Delhi- 1110 010.
  • Institute of Aviation Medicine, India Air Force
    Vimanpura, Bangalore.
  • Hours required for flight

    60 hours for PPL

    Training

    140 hours for CPL (total hours 200)

    Simulator*

    20 hours IRC issue


    * The Club conducts 20 hours of ground training on a simulator as it enhances the flying skills of the student.

    Foreign Nationals: Foreign Nationals are required to get clearance from the Director General of Civil Aviation in New Delhi and the local Commissioner of Police before they can enroll on any of the courses. The Permission can be obtained through the Flying Club and is valid for a stated Period and for a specified flying club. Fees and costs for foreign nationals are separate from the ones stated in the fees section. This information can be given at the Administration office.

    Fees & Other Charges: Flying charges vary in keeping with global factors like fuel prices and currency value. These can be indicated at the time of application. Other than these, the Club will levy the following charges which are likely to change without notice.

    4. Aircraft Maintenace Engineer Apprenticeship:
    1. Student who have completed the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering coursse can be taken on for a 12-month practical training. This would enable them to appear for the AME exam conducted by the DGCA, New Delhi.
    2. Candidates must have passed std XII with Physics, Maths & Chemistry.
    3. Information on fees can be sought at the Asministration Office.
